The ICC Internationales Congress Centrum Berlin is located in the Westend, enclosed by multiple highly frequented tracks of the City-Autobahn: built in a time when everything was supposed to be reached by car anyways. The convention center is one of the largest of its kind. The colossus is often compared to a sci-fi spaceship ready for take-off. In its retro-futuristic appearance and its massive dimensions of 320 meters – which is way beyond any scale compared to its surrounding city context – it still is perplexing and stunning even today.
